I took an online course and a line hits me hard regarding empathy.
'Don't forget that empathy isn't all about empathizing with those in difficult or challenging situations; empathy can also involve sharing in another's joy.' I'm always busy to understand other people's hardship that I forget how to feel happy for others. I also think it's easier to share sadness, rather than to be happy for others. Empathy itself means the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.

I am a homeroom teacher who have witnessed various kinds of hardship on my pupils' shoulder. Although I'm not yet a mother, I just want to shower them all with love. I want to treat each of my students with care and love. I want to listen to them, figure out and help them with tangled strings that they thought could never be set free.
Even when they did me wrong, they hurt my feelings, all I want is the best for them. If only my salary is abundant, I'd definitely spend for them. I know their parents are struggling to put decent food and shelter them. I believe parents always try their best, but some people are born without even a spoon or plate. Let's not talk about silver or gold spoon. That's why. As a teacher, all I want to be is someone whom when my students think off, 'ah, I knew a teacher who once listened to me. Adults are kind people. They will listen to you.' Perhaps, I'm not realistic? |
