Week 4
Today was our first tutorial with Dr. Fariza. We were asked to make an e-portfolio by using Weebly. I really love Weebly, compared to other webmakers websites (except Wix because I love Wix as well). Weebly is very user-friendly with simple editing buttons. What makes Weebly more special and appealing to me is their beautiful layouts/templates which are provided for us. I am a minimalist person and really love simple designs. I found out that most of Weebly designs are attractive. Dr. Fariza asked us to randomly choose a template, so that we could proceed to the next step. However, I was having a hard time to pick one! Then, we were taught on how to make drop-down menu and small pages in a main page. For example, I want to put three courses under Assignment page. Somehow, I do now want all my assignments to get mixed. So, I need to create a page inside a page! I asked Dr. Fariza and she taught us how. It was easier that how I taught it was! In my opinion as a future teacher, e-portfolio is vital for today's learners. They spend most of their time in front of their gadgets (smartphones, laptops, etc.). E-portfolio, for me, is a genuine complement to their modern ways of learning. When teachers ask students to produce something (work or assignments), students somehow need a platform to showcase their work, which is not only to teachers and their classmates, however, to everyone. Besides, nowadays, we are encouraging our students the concept of 'Knowledge without boundary.' At the same time, students need their own space, which means, their own pages or websites. And e-portfolio is the answer! That's all from me. Thank you.
