Week 5 Today, we were taught about how to utilize Weebly to the fullest. Weebly is not only about posting words or pictures, however, it is more than that. In the tutorial, we were shown by Dr. Fariza on how to: 1. Put a link in a word. For Example: Today's Lesson 2. How to put YouTube video 3. How to utilize HTML code 4. How to upload files on our post 5. How to provide a download button for readers to download our material/notes. It is such a valuable lesson. It makes everything become easier by knowing about those steps. In learning and teaching process, those knowledge are very important in order to make what we share more meaningful and helpful. Let's say if we only put long words and paragraphs in a post, it will be very unattractive. Students or other readers will find it mundane, thus information sharing occurs less efficient. In addition, there are a lot types of learners. In my opinion, by putting pictures or videos (from YouTube), it helps these various kinds of learners to learn and understand to the fullest. These are the reasons of why, for me, knowing how to put a link in a word or how to put a YT video in our posts are very important, and useful for everyone. That's all from me. Thank you. For this week lecture, we were exposed to Web 2.0 again. However this time, it is about how we, as a future teacher could utilize Web 2.0 in teaching and learning. For example, Youtube. I learned that we can share useful and information videos on Youtube. It could be in any forms. For example, in a form of tutorial. Let's say we want to teach people on how to make Origami, we can record ourselves, edit the video a little bit to emphasize the important steps and simply upload it on Youtube. It is very easy!
At first I thought, it would be impossible because there was no teachers or instructors face-to-face. Somehow, the lecturer told us that learning by Youtube is far more efficient than in a live classroom. This is because; the learner can repeat the video and learn at her or his own learning phase without. Unlike in a classroom, everyone needs to follow the normal phase that the teacher has set and time is always limited in a classroom. Overall, I think, Web 2.0 is very useful to be applied in my teaching day as a complement to the main classroom session. That's all from me, thank you!
