Week 3
Today, we did not have normal lecture, however, we had some talks regarding Piktochart. And I got very excited. As someone who loves to make beautiful infographics and posters from Piktochart (and other websites), I became very eager to get the code. Although Dr. Fariza said that we can enjoy the Premium (VIP) for one month, I was thankful enough. In the lecture, Dr. Fariza asked us: what software do we (students) usually use when creating slides? We all answered: Microsoft, Prezi, etc. Then, she showed us her very beautiful slides. The slides she made were minimal, however informative and attractive. And what surprised me, Dr. Fariza said, she used Piktochart to do it. I was very surprised to know that we can produce great slides with Piktochart. Then, Dr. Fariza held a mini tutorial on how to make an eye-catching infographics by using Piktochart. From this lecture, I learned that visual-aids should be created creatively, yet informative. This means, a lot of considerations ought to be focused. This is because; in the future, the young generation we are going to teach are heavily visual learners. Not only they are visual learners, they will be selective on what they want to learn. In order to tackle this issue, firstly, we need to get their attention by providing something that they will definitely read: colourful infographics. Secondly, we can encourage students on using these kinds of websites for them to make their notes creatively. Rather than using notebooks, now, let's save some trees and use Piktochart! That's all from me. Thank you.
